GUESS WHO'S COMING TO SUPPER ?

The afternoon is marching on and Red Polka Dot Girl wants all hands on deck to help prepare tonight's feast. She's about to put a gorgeous ham in the oven and Pink Polka Dot Girl is at the stove stirring some delicious stuff. Even though Hello Hoodie Girl is a Vegetarian, she's not worried. She's  making her Knock Out Sweet Potato Casserole and since shucking corn is second nature to everybody in Heartdale Falls..It's Yello Hoodie Boy's job. Bonz The Dog is still waiting  for something to drop on the floor.....then it's his.

The Heartfelts set an amazing table, lights are dimmed, extra chairs are added and the best china and stemware comes out. You are never too small to help, there's Lil' Miss Candydrop bringing the napkins and OH, those flowers are beautiful.

At five thirty the family arrives led by Grammy Beebe and Grandpa Weeze. Hootie is thrilled that Grey Hoodie Boy has come in his uniform.....he's a STAR now.
Red Polka Dot Girl is hugging Yello Polka Dot Girl ( they are sisters if you don't know, and yes, Yello Polka Dot Girl is Yello Hoodies mom).
Oh, Oh, there's Uncle Monty, I hope they keep him out of the liquor cabinet, we don't want a repeat of what happened last year.....
Ummm, I wonder what Grammy Beebe brought?

First, a welcoming Toast.......To family and friends.

It's finally time to sit down for Supper. Red Polka Dot Girl is bringing in the festive ham embellished with pineapple, cherries and cloves. It looks delicious and she looks stunning.
She's asked Daddy B.B. to set up a carving station.
Everybody is taking pictures and it looks like Yello Hoodie Boy has started in on his corn...well, he did shuck it.

And just who was coming to supper you wonder ?

So, that's what she brought with her. Boy, it looks real good.
Ummm....maybe I'll try just one slice.... O.M.G....Could you please pass the ice cream?

IN THE GARDEN OF GOOD, BETTER and BEST

THE HEARTFELTS

Where every day feels like Saturday
and
 Every night is Friday night.

A Day In The Life

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
IN THE GARDEN
of
GOOD
BETTER
and BEST
While Daddy B.B. and Hootie The Sports Guy are at the Baseball game,
Red Polka Dot Girl is busy spending some time freshening up the flower garden.
Everything has to be perfect because tomorrow is the big Garden Tour to benefit
The Heartdale Falls Children's Hospital Fund, plus the entire family is coming  over
for Saturday night supper. She's enlisted Pink Polka Dot Girls help and
Yello Hoodie Boy has to dig ( remember his punishment for stowing away to Italy...
eternal chores). That aside, Yello Hoodie Boy is definitely not happy.
But, what's this? Worms.....and lots of them.
These would cost him a whole weeks allowance at the Bait and Tackle Shop.
Hey, this gardening stuff isn't so bad after all ....Tomorrow, FISHIN'.
THE DISASTER IN THE DINING ROOM
or
I'D RATHER BE FISHIN'
Golly, these worms are kinda cute. Yello Hoodie Boy wants to count them,
you know, to sharpen his arithmetic skills. Problem is, he's doing it at
the dining room table with Grammy Beebe's embroidered tablecloth on it....
and she's coming for supper tonight.
It's a mess. Looks like Yello Hoodie Boy has done it again. He doesn't
try to get in trouble, but somehow trouble finds him.
Well, the good news is that the tablecloth can be cleaned, and for that matter ,
so can Yello Hoodie Boy....he's a mess.
Now he has to wash the tablecloth and himself as well.
Hey there L'il  Miss Candy Drop, you'd better wait until your Mommy
can draw you a fresh bath....You don't want worm water.
Next week....
CALLING ALL SPORTS FANS...( Part 2)
THE HEARTFELTS
Heartdale Falls
Where everyday feels like Saturday
and
Every night is Friday night.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

CALLING ALL SPORTS FANS
Part 2

In the last episode we left Grey Hoodie Boy at bat facing the super mean
Tug 'The Hammer' O'Goon, Pitcher for the River City Otters. The bases are loaded and Heartdale Falls is behind
by three runs. The count is three balls and two strikes....YIKES

Tug keeps shaking off pitches from the Catcher. He wants to throw 'heat', maybe a split finger
fast ball, his signature Strike Out Pitch.

Instead, he throws to first base in a pick off attempt. Fortunately 'Spuds'
Yatroski is as fast as a cat and beats the throw.
That's right Spud, call for a Time Out, you can't trust these weasels,
OH... excuse me those 'Otters'.

Wait a minute....Tug knows he can't throw out Spuds, he's the fastest base
runner in the League. He must be trying to break Grey Hoodie Boy's
concentration. He's trying to mess with his head, The Rat.

....And it ain't working'.
Grey Hoodie Boy is totally focused.
The tension is at a fever pitch.

Tug fires his fast ball......I can't watch....
Is this going to be Mudville all over again?

Grey Hoodie Boy absolutely crushes it.

A GRAND SLAM HOME RUN.

CALLING ALL SPORTS FANS!

THE HEARTFELTS

A  DAY  IN  THE  LIFE
Episode 6

Heartdale  Falls

Where everyday feels like Saturday
and
every night is Friday night !

A DAY IN THE LIFE

________________________________________________________

CALLING ALL SPORTS FANS

The folks of Heartdale Falls take sports seriously.
Football ushers in Fall and of course there is soccer. Winter brings basketball and hockey,
but everybody waits for Spring to hear the Umpire yell, "PLAY BALL "
Its baseball season, a special place in the heart.

Daddy B.B. has caught up with Hootie The Sports Guy. They are entering the
Stadium to find their seats. The rain has cleared and the field looks great!
Nothing is greener than a freshly mowed ball field.

WOW, what great seats. Not to mention the hot dogs, soda and for Daddy B.B. a
frosty cold one. Hey, there's old Roger Angelheart. He still keeps a scorecard
and hasn't missed a game in 40 years.

It's a close game......

It's the ninth inning with the River City Otters leading by three runs.
Those rats. Two outs... Grey Hoodie Boy is at the plate with the bases loaded
and the Otters have called in their best closer, Tug 'The Hammer' O'Goon.
They call him 'The Hammer' because he always nails the game shut.
He's big, mean and yuck....he spits.  I bet he cheats.

Grey Hoodie Boy isn't scared. The count is 3 Balls and 2 Strikes.
I think the Catcher is calling for an inside fast ball.....PURE HEAT.
Fortunately, the Umpire is 'Bear' McClean, the best Ump in baseball.

It's a real nail biter........

To be continued.
