Lil' Miss Candydrop Takes Center Stage

Lil' Miss Candydrop is having her friends, the twins, over.
( By the way, her name is Candace, Yello Hoodie gave her that
nickname and it stuck.) Anyway, they are having fun playing dance
with some old sheets which gives Red an idea.
Daddy B.B. has no time for all this since the dump is about to close
and he needs Yello Hoodie to help with the trash.
Hum, I don't know but I'm not so sure Yello Hoodie wants to leave.
It looks like fun!

Well, the girls are off for the evening. There's sure a lot going on,
I wonder where they are going?
Hey boys, don't be so mad.... You can fend for yourselves for a night....
I think.

So, it's ballet tonight. That's why the guys didn't want to come.
Too bad for them!

Sometimes Art just seizes you.
Lil' Miss just can't believe anything can be so beautiful.
I have the feeling dance lessons are in her future. Sometimes
the best thing a parent can do is introduce their children to things,
encourage them and then step back.

Meanwhile, back at the house....
Sigh, no roasts, no homemade stews gently cooking,
no casseroles tonight. At least Yello Hoodie Boy is happy.
He's found what he wants!

THE LONGEST NIGHT

This year the Winter Solstice has brought along a Full Moon

to illuminate the evening sky. 

Each year the Merry Revellers and Pranksters of Heartdale Falls gather to 

build a huge bonfire to keep the year alive. They play music, sing and dance around 

the fire. There will be cups of hot cocoa later.

During the Christmas Season they all love to sing
Holiday favorites, even if one, (maybe Yello), voice
is a bit flat it doesn't matter ...much.

THE HOLIDAYS IN HEARTDALE FALLS: FAMILY NIGHT AT THE THEATER

Alas, the Holidays in Heartdale Falls boasts some pretty good theatrical

productions, the Community Actors Guild is among the best 

in The Heartland !

This season they are presenting one of The Heartfelt's favorites....

WOW, What a show!

I don't know about you, but that Marley sends shivers down my spine.

Ah, but as good as the show is, everybody looks forward  to intermission

for a chance to snack on what has become a tradition here in Heartdale Falls....

If you want to make  what is the best English Butter Toffee this side of

London give this recipe a go.

Try to keep the candy all in one piece until it is done.

Then, like The Heartfelts, gather

 the family and friends around for the traditional 

Breaking of the Toffee.

THE OH SO SUSTAINABLE CHRISTMAS TREE

As the sun sinks low and the daylight dims, Winter descends on the Heartland

with all its magical beauty. The folks of Heartdale falls welcome the time

between Thanksgiving and the New Year as a chance to come together to revel

in the delights of the Holidays. Let's join The Heartfelt Family as they

enjoy this special time of year.

THE OH SO SUSTAINABLE

CHRISTMAS TREE

It's the same problem every year, just where to find that perfect Christmas Tree?

Daddy B.B. insists on looking at that lot next to the Legion Hall. I don't know

Daddy B.B., that one doesn't look so great....Red is not so sure either.

H.Lo goes to one of those 'alternative' schools where she noticed a posting

in her Sustainable Agriculture class for an Organic Tree Farm right here

in Heartdale Falls, and if you buy a tree they give you a sapling to plant there in the Spring!

No gas powered ATV's on this farm. It's all Daddy B.B. power.

With the tree tied down they ride home. It takes exactly the time to sing the

entire 'Twelve Days of Christmas' to reach their house.

Everybody chooses their favorite ornament to decorate the tree, but its

not until Daddy B.B. puts the star on the top of the tree 

that The Holidays officially begin!

A '41' TRIBUTE

One of The Heartfelt's favorite places to visit is the rugged coast of Maine.

It's well known that Daddy B.B. is a sucker for interesting names, so, when

he found Cape Porpoise, just above Kennebunkport, he had to visit.

When he and Red were at the local grocery store, they bought a tub

of dip, made by some ladies from the area. The cashier commented 

that the dip was former President George H.W. Bush's favorite. He

and his wife, Barbara, summered on nearby Walker's Point and they

would shop there.

When Daddy B.B. returned home he made his version of...

41's Favorite.

HAPPY HANUKKAH!

Almost every year, The Heartfelts are invited to Hanukkah dinner at their friends, Saul 

and Rachel, house. Yello Hoodie and their son Ben are classmates and good friends.

It is a well known fact in Heartdale falls that Red just LOVES Rachel's Potato Latkes.

Hey Red, all those Latkes aren't just for you!

FROM RED"S KITCHEN

Red asked Rachel if she would share her recipe for Latkes. 

They are just potato pancakes, so the ingredients are pretty simple.

It's the secret techniques that each cook uses that is often passed down through generations,

that make these precious patties so wonderful.
